Table Mountain Wildflower Walk.png

The springtime flowers of Table Mountain are an amazing explosion of color. Learn how to identify many of the unique flowers and about the geology of this amazing place. Easy to moderate walk. Day Pass included in cost of the field trip. No additional cost.

Geology of Bidwell Park

Learn about the history of Bidwell Park through it’s unique geology. We’ll take a moderate, short hike observing the Tuscan formation and learn about the Lovejoy and Chico formations. Also learn about the rock cycle, the difference between weathering and erosion and identifying the most common rocks found in Bidwell Park.

Family Events:

$40 per child

Children (4.9 to 17, with emergency form on file with Thrive) may be dropped off or families may join the field trips. Parents and younger siblings are free.

NOTE: Because parents may stay, not all adults at field trips will be trained and fingerprinted Thrive staff. There will always be trained and fingerprinted Thrive staff leading events.

 

Use your charter funds before you lose them: You may order funds as these are fully outdoor activities and masks are optional outside.

 

If you are out of charter funds and interested in field trips please contact us about funding options.

 

Everyone should wear appropriate clothing for the weather. All field trips are outdoors and we will run rain or shine, hot or cold. Everyone should bring a snack and water bottle. Extra outfits recommended especially if there is a chance of getting wet. Many activities include getting wet or messy especially on warmer days.

 

All activities start and end at the location of the trip with no transportation provided. You will receive an email with full details. Plan to provide your own transportation to the field trips.

Dates: Field Trips are single day events. Multiple dates are the same field trip repeated. You may attend the same field trip twice. Choose the date that fits your schedule best.
