"The Coding Kids" is a STEM coding group based in Dallas, Texas. They host one day coding classes and they are coming to Thrive in Chico on Friday, 10/27/17 from 3pm to 7pm.
"The Coding Kids" will provide the instructors, Thrive will provide the space and student's provide their own laptops.
Python is the coding language used to introduce coding to beginners. It's the easiest language to learn and serves as a great foundation and gateway to other coding languages.
The class is self-paced, interactive, fun, educational and designed for children! "The Coding Kids" teaches straightforward, REAL programming (with no gimmicks or gadgets).
This class is open to homeschoolers as well as students who attend traditional school during the school year.
Date: Friday, 10/27/17 from 3pm to 7pm
Ages: 8 to 14
Prerequisites: ability to read, write and type (slowly is fine) without feeling overly stressed
Supplies Needed: Students must bring a packed lunch and a laptop (Windows or Linux based) or Mac to camp and a willingness to learn. Please note that an iPhone, iPod, Tablet or Chromebook is not compatible with our camp. Most laptops made in or after 2008 will be sufficient for camp. After you enroll we will send you the software link for you to install ready for camp.
